Attendance

At Kingsbury Academy, we expect children to attend school every day, as long as they are fit and healthy to do so.

Research shows that pupils who attend school regularly are more likely to do well in the future.  Regular attendance helps children to develop their confidence and to make and keep lasting friendships.

A 100% attendance is desirable as anything less means that your child is missing out on their education.  For example, 90% attendance is the same as missing half a day each week, or one whole month a year off school.

We feel that the most important way to promote good attendance is to ensure that both pupils and parents have a positive relationship with school. For more information please see our attednace policy.

All lateness and absences are recorded by the school office and monitored by the Safeguarding and Welfare Team. Reasons will be sought for all absence or lateness. Parents will always be informed of concerns around attendance at the earliest point. Such measures can be indicators which allow us to offer help and support through our Pastoral Lead Kathryn Croom and support in Safeguarding all the children in our care and their families.
