Learning for Life Curriculum

Kingsbury’s Curriculum for Life

The curriculum caters for pupils who have a range of complex cognitive difficulties alongside sensory, physical and/or behavioural barriers to learning.

Learning for today, preparing for tomorrow is the ambition of our curriculum. We focus on improving the quality of life of all the pupils that we serve.

We have 3 components that run throughout our curriculum offer and form the basis of our approach: Curriculum for Learning where pupils develop knowledge and skills to become successful learners, Curriculum for Life where we focus on preparation for independence, and Curriculum for Generalisation and Enrichment where we enable pupils to generalise their learning in wider contexts and develop their interests and cultural understanding. Our Communication and Sensory Integration and Positive Behaviour Support offer is delivered through a tiered approach across the school.
